Dewi has settled in well. She has a lovely smiley face and is friendly with people. After some initial surprise, she likes having a lap to sit on. She hasn't met many other dogs yet, but will do so in the coming week. She is now eating well and has been clean in the house for a couple of days. Things to work on are:
- she doesn't want to be left alone even for a minute. I am working on this very gradually, leaving her for a few minutes at a time, but it means that she will need to go to someone who is at home all day.
- she doesn't yet walk well on the lead. Off the lead, she is fine, but tends to stop when on it. Again, this is being approached gradually.
- she has itchy legs which she scratches and chews. I'm getting some cream for this.

Dewi has been in foster care for three weeks and has settled in very well. She’s a cracker – smiley face, waggy tail, affectionate, good with people and dogs.

To begin with she was the only dog, but lately she has been sharing with two others. While alone, she didn’t like to be left, although she was gradually improving at home and was happy to be left in the car for some time.

Some work still needs to be done on her lead training – she was new to a lead and doesn’t like it, but is getting better. She’s happy to walk off the lead, but doesn’t need a lot of exercise.

She will make a really excellent loving companion.
