Background

Alfie originally came to us from the pound in Wales after being picked up as a stray, but showed signs that he had lived in a household before as he settled in very well into a home thereafter. Unfortunately things did not work out in his recent adoptive home and Alfie has been returned to us.

Character

Alfie is a very cuddly chap who likes to sleep under a blanket on the sofa. When not snuggling up, he can be found looking out of the window. He sleeps well at night but beware, you’ll have to get used to sharing the duvet!
He is a little nervous sometimes, however given his very unsettled last few months we think that is to be expected.

This boy loves going out for walks on those long legs. He enjoys visiting cafes and is unbothered by noise from traffic and crowded areas. He’d really enjoy a home where he could accompany his family on day trips and adventures.
Alfie travels well in the car.

Type of home

Alfie would like an active home that can take him on regular walks and have plenty of blankets for him to snuggle under. Alfie needs reminding of his manners on walks as he sometimes tends to bark at other dogs, although this is improving with training.

Alfie is weary of strangers and visitors to his home and he becomes nervous and barks. He is a clever boy and we believe that reward based training will support him in improving this behaviour, however he may be best suited to a quiet household that has few visitors.

For the same reasons we feel Alfie would be suited to an adult only home or a home with dog savvy, older children.

It typical terrier style, Alfie has a nack at sniffing out an holes or gaps in fencing and will need a secure garden at his new forever home.

Alfie is a diamond in the rough that will bring adventure and oodles of personality to the right home!

Adopting

Alfie is currently a resident at our kennels and successful applicants will need to come and meet him here.
