Background – Angel arrived in our care in December 2021 having been ‘retired’ from breeding. Angel spent some time at the kennels for an initial assessment before moving to one of our fantastic, experienced foster homes.
Type of home – Angel is thriving in a family home where there is always someone to play with, she just can’t get enough of people and needs a warm, kind and patient home with guardians who are able to help her overcome her unsettled start in life.
People – Angel adores people and is exceptionally affectionate, it would be incredibly hard not to fall in love with her. Angel loves to play fetch with her toys, but her favourite thing is to snuggle up close with you on the sofa and snore away.
Children – Angel is incredible with the young children in her foster home and would be happy in a family home with children who are sensible and respectful around dogs.
Dogs and Cats – Angel would benefit from a home with similar-sized, well-socialised dogs who may be able to act as a canine role model. Angel is not cat tested.
Outside of the home – Angel enjoys walks and prefers to walk in fields or in the forest as she still finds the outside world a little bit scary. Angel does not enjoy car rides and finds traffic a bit frightening but over time careful training may help this.
Health – Angel was very overweight when she arrived, but with careful help from her foster family she has been losing the extra pounds which is excellent for both her health and welfare. Angel has a possible hernia which will be repaired when she is spayed at our vets but this does not cause her any problems at the moment.
Adoption process – Angel is in foster care in Yeovil and applicants must be willing to accommodate a home check, vet reference check (where applicable) and a visit to Angel in her foster home.
