Background – Arlo was picked up by the dog warden and was not claimed, and unfortunately his previous owner did not want him back. Arlo was with the dog warden for quite some time until we had space for him, and was very happy on the day we collected him – he gave the volunteer a big slobbery kiss!
Character – Arlo is a big goofball who loves people and is super friendly – anyone who loves big, bouncy dogs would fall in love with him. Arlo is excitable and boisterous, but this is probably exaggerated by the fact he has been in kennels for so long.
With other dogs – Arlo doesn’t realise he is a big boy, and loves rough and tumble – he is friendly with other dogs but needs to be mixed with other dogs who match his play style in the setting of confident handlers.
Type of home – Arlo needs a strong and physically able home, with someone who is happy to have cuddles from a very oversized lap dog. An active home with someone who likes walks and adventures would be ideal, as Arlo loves to explore the fields and go for walks here. Arlo generally travels well in the car so might even like to go away on camping trips etc.
Adoption – Arlo is a resident at our kennels near Wells and applicants must come and meet him here.
