Background

Bernie came to us as an unwanted pet, but without any detailed information on his background other than he didn’t get on with the other dog in the house. He has been in foster care for a little while now whilst we get to know him.

Character

Bernie’s foster carer says he “was anxious to start with but now is completely different, very affectionate, gets on well with all the gang, and getting more and more playful, can be a little bundle of energy. Very cute but still a little terrier.”

Type of home

Bernie would be quite happy anywhere, as long as he gets nice walks and lots of interaction with people. At the moment he isn’t used to being left at all and lives with a mini-pack (8 dogs) in a fairly rural setting so will need time to adjust to a more typical home environment and routine. When Bernie first arrived in foster care he showed some guarding around other dogs, but this soon settled and he now happily shares – however his new home should be prepared for some work around this if there is a resident dog. Bernie has been fine with the children he had met whilst in foster care but a home with children 10+ would be best as he isn’t used to having little ones around all the time.

Adopting

Bernie is in foster care in Bridgwater at applicants would need to come and meet him here.
