Background – Buddy arrived with us as an unwanted pet – he was extremely thin and we were deeply concerned for his wellbeing. After a period of time in foster care Buddy has started to gain weight and is doing very well.

Character – Not the brightest spark but a true cuddle monster. This is the only way Buddy can be described! He loves nothing more than to be cuddled up to his humans and could spend all day every day like this. He’s great with new people and dogs. His strong willed nature means he’ll let you know if he does/does not want something. Buddy isn’t the most active boy but does enjoy a walk. He can get over excited around food so this needs to be monitored and worked on with training.

Type of home – Buddy would prefer a home where someone is around most of the time as he can become stressed when left alone. He has a tendency to be a bit nippy when he suspects treats are available so an older people home would probably be best for this little guy. Buddy is fostered in an adult only home but has spent some time with 2 small dogs so could be homed with resident dog(s) or on his own.

Health – Due to the circumstances Buddy arrived in he is still working on slowing getting up to his target weight, however, this doesn’t appear to have affected his health. Buddy does have trauma to his ears which may never heal but they cause him very little issues. Buddy has a suspected allergy that is being investigated and means he is currently on a special diet and cleaning regime.

Adoption – Buddy is in foster care in Weston Super Mare and applicants must be able to travel to meet him here. Please read our ‘adopting’ page and ensure you are in our catchment area before applying.
