Background –
Curious George came to us after being found as a stray and serving his seven days in the wardens kennels. He went to straight into a lovely foster home where he has adjusted very well, so we feel he is ready to find his forever family.
Character –
George is just an absolute gem! His foster family say that he is gentle, loves cuddles and is relaxed and well behaved in the home.
George enjoys his walks and is very well behaved although does become a little nervous around busy roads, which may be as a result of his time as a stray.
He can sometimes be a little vocal towards other dogs whilst on walks, but this is more likely due to nervous excitement as he is very friendly with dogs he meets on walks. He may require a bit more support with his socialisation at first, and would probably be best placed as an only dog.
Type of home –
George being such a gentleman means that he would be suitable to many home environments.
He is a young dog and has lots of love to give, but also enjoys having down time to sleep on his bed or curled up on the floor near the sofa. At night he sleeps downstairs in his own bed, although does upgrade to the sofa in the wee hours for a bit more luxury.
George is house trained and he can be left alone for short periods, so would be ok in a home where his family need to pop out without him sometimes.
George is lovely with children and we think he would be happy to live with children who enjoy playing with him, but who will also respect his space and let him be rest when he needs to.
George is currently in a home with a foster cat, however he is not a fan and does growl and bark whenever the cat is present, so we think he would be best placed in a cat-free home.
George is a little nervous when he meets new dogs but friendly when walking past etc, but we think he’d prefer to be a solo dog.
Adopting –
George is in foster care in Kingswood, Bristol and successful applicants would need to come and meet him here.
