Background: Small, blue eyed boy Jake, a nearly 2 year old border collie, is another of our young farm dogs that came to us when he didn’t make the grade as a working dog. He spent a few weeks at our kennels where he was an easy going favourite before moving in with his foster parents for further assessment.

Temperament: Like his 2 litter sisters, Jake is a very cuddly and affectionate boy who of course, loves his walks!

Dogs, cats and children: Jake loves other dogs, walks very happily with them and enjoys playing with his pals, although he can sometimes be a bit boisterous and enthusiastic! We think he would love to live with a confident and patient canine companion, but may be able to live alone in the right circumstances. He has not met any cats but both his sisters are chasers, nor has he met any children, but his good nature means we think he’d be fine with sensible older kids.

Training and walks: Like all collies, Jake loves to be outside so he will need an active home where he can be suitably exercised and mentally stimulated. He loves to learn and wants to please so, although very new to pet life with limited training, will be very receptive to learning new things.

Ideal home: As a farm collie, Jake would like a semi-rural home with a family who can meet his breed needs. His lovely nature means he’d make a lovely family pet for those willing to help him adapt to home life.

Jake is in foster care in Montacute and applicants must be able to travel here to meet him.
