MICHAEL
Breed: Cross
Age: 5
Donation: £250
Background – Michael arrived from Romania in 2020, one of the first to come when we had space during lockdown. He is as exotic a dog as you can get – his DNA shows 22 breeds.
Character – When he arrived, Michael was shut down, as one of the photos taken before he came shows. He was anxious and could be reactive to some other dogs and in some situations. He has relaxed and come out of himself, but remains cautious and reserved, though friendly and playful with those he knows.
Health and Exercise – Michael has hip dysplasia, which has been treated and does not restrict him. More than anything, he loves to go out for two or three walks a day in the countryside or in town. He walks well on a lead.
Type of home – Michael would love to have a good size garden, where he can relax. He is fairly big – 33kg – and untested with children, so an adult home, or one with older teenagers, would be preferable. Most of all he’s looking for kindness, but he also needs a consistent and firm hand.
Dogs and Cats – Michael is fine as an only dog (and has been fostered as such most of the time), but a confident role model would be good. Any cat would need to be very confident, so probably better not!
Adoption process – Because he is reserved by nature, it is likely that more than one meeting will be needed in order to get to know him. Michael is being fostered near Wells.
