Breed: Malinois Cross Dutch Shepherd
Age: 13 weeks (at time of adoption)
Donation: £350
Background – Lexie (Milo’s mother) is a Malinois Cross who was handed in to Dogs Friends after being found as a stray, and never being claimed. Lexie was emaciated and in a bad way when she was rescued, and by some miracle safely gave birth to a litter of pups just a few days later.
Type of home needed – Malinois are highly intelligent dogs who need a huge amount of mental and physical stimulation. Milo will need to go to very experienced homes with people who have a lot of time to dedicate to his training and socialisation which will need to be highly structured and adjusted to meet each stage of his development. As an adult dog will need a lot of exercise but also mental enrichment time. It will be a condition of adoption that Milo dogs are enrolled in a training class or that a trainer is enlisted from day 1 – this is to ensure he has the best start.
Adopting – Milo is in foster care in Burnham on Sea and is ready to go to his adoptive home now.
Individual Profiles – ONLY MILO REMAINING
Milo – when I first arrived I was the most timid, I didn’t really want to come out my crate, but I’m much more confident now! I’m the gentlest (so far) with the toddler, Jack. I am very affectionate and I am the first to settle for a cuddle. I am quickly learning to toilet outside and sleep quietly in my crate. I am looking for a breed knowledgeable preferably working home.
