    • Otto can live with other dogs
    • Otto can live with children 5+
    • Otto has not been cat tested

Background – Otto came to us from a pet home, although we have minimal information about his previous life. As he appears to be so well balanced and socialised, we can only hope that he had a happy life before arriving in rescue.

Character – Otto’s foster carer describes him in the following words “friendly, gentle, obedient with a tiny bit of stubborn.  Otto has VERY calm and consistent manner, he never gets riled up, a real dude”. “Otto steals the hearts of everyone he meets”.

Type of home – Otto would benefit from a family home as he thrives in the company of other people and dogs. Although he is a chilled out dude, he would enjoy a home where he gets out and about a lot – he has already been to his first festival! Otto appears to struggle to be left alone (although this has not been fully assessed) so a home with company most of the time will likely be the best match for him.

People – Otto adores people and is a real lovebug – he likes to snuggle up on the sofa or even curl up on your lap whilst you’re trying to crack on with some gardening!

Children – Otto has met young children in foster care and behaved exceptionally well in their company – he was very gentle and calm.

Dogs and cats – Otto generally loves other dogs and greets them with good manners, and does not generally react to other dogs bad behaviour but he did not get on well with an entire male dog in the foster home.

Outside of the house – Otto loves to be out and about – he does enjoy a day trip! Otto walks well on the lead and is starting his recall training using a longline. When out and about Otto is calm and enjoys exploring new environments, which is also made easier by the fact he is an excellent passenger in the car – he is snoring on the back seat within minutes of hopping in.

Health – Otto is currently being treated for an ear infection and does have some itchy skin, likely as a result of poor diet and stress of moving. This is currently being addressed by our vets.

Adoption process – Otto is currently residing at our kennels near Wells. Please ensure you meet the criteria for Otto and have read our ‘Adopting’ page before applying.
