About This Project

Breed: Patty

Estimated DOB: 05/06/2021

Donation: £300

Background – Patty came from an Oversea’s rescue in Winter 2021 and has spent time in a few home environments. Patty did absolutely thrive in her first foster home but after that struggled to adjust and so has spent an extended period of time at the kennels undergoing further assessment and training.

Character – When Patty is out on walks and in the paddock with people she knows, she is very happy, friendly and fun. Patty can struggle with new people sometimes (particularly men) and will growl if scared but this is much improved recently with patience in her foster home.

Type of home – Patty will need an experienced and very patient home where she can be given space and independence – she will not be perfect straight away and will need lots of time to adjust to her new surroundings and guardians. Patty is a medium energy dog and loves a run around but is also happy with a gentle stroll. Patty must go to a home without children (or regular visiting children) and would be best suited to a home with other dogs for reassurance – we suspect she could be happiest as part of a mini pack.

Training needs – Patty needs socialisation with meeting new people, and also with her guarding as she will guard her crate/bed. This is something that will no doubt improve with lots of ongoing training – she just needs someone to take a chance on her.

Adoption – Patty is in foster care near Wells and applicants must be willing to visit her several times to build trust and a relationship before she goes home.
