Background – Poppy arrived in our care as part of a very sad rescue situation, and has never known anything beyond her home with her parents. Fortunately she has really started to blossom, living alongside other rescue dogs in a fabulous foster home.
Character – Poppy is a happy little girl who is very sweet and affectionate, with a playful puppy aspect to her character. She’s a real cheeky character who is simply thriving!
With other dogs – Initially Poppy went to a foster home without other dogs and didn’t cope well with this, but since moving to a home with rescue Bichon’s she has been happy and so we will be looking for a home with resident dogs of a similar size. Poppy can be a little scared of other dogs to start with, but soon settles in – we think this is because she has not had any contact with the outside world so has only ever known her parents.
Type of home – Poppy will need a home with people who are happy to start with her training from scratch. We aren’t sure if she had ever been outdoors before and so she will need gentle guiding to help her adjust to a normal life as a much loved family member.
Adoption – Poppy is in foster care in Bristol and applicants will need to come here for meet and greets and visits. Poppy’s adopters will need to bring her back to our vets in Blackford, Somerset for some post adoption vet care that is arranged.
