Age: 14 years (Poppy) and 8 years (Murphy)
Breed: Shih Tzu
Donation: £350
Background –
Poppy and Murphy were much-loved and treasured family members and came into our care when their adoring owner sadly passed away. This super-bonded pair went straight into a lovely foster home together.
Character –
Poppy and Murphy are incredibly relaxed dogs who really know how to chill-out and enjoy life. In fact, they often sleep for 14 hours through the night, roll out of bed for breakfast and promptly take themselves back off for another nap! It’s a tough life for these cuties!
Their foster mum has shared regular updates of these chilled-out pooches enjoying baths, grooming and cuddle sessions .
These happy little chappies each have their own unique personality, which makes them great fun to be around!
Murphy is an inquisitive little soul who likes his walks and meeting strangers and having a fuss made of him. Although he is younger than Poppy, he has taken on the protector role and loves to look out for his girl!
Poppy is a senior, more reserved girl who loves to give and receive gentle affection, potter around the garden at her leisure and go on short walks.
They are cautious but friendly when receiving human and doggy visitors.
Type of home –
Poppy and Murphy would be wonderfully suited to a quiet calm home, perhaps with a retired person who is looking for some gentle company. Both dogs are very easy to have in the home and settle well into a routine. They have nothing but love to give and would make the most wonderful companions!
Neither of the dogs are high energy and would not be suited to an active family or household.
Poppy and Murphy are gentle and have sweet temperaments, so we feel they would be happy to meet and have a very gentle cuddle with any visiting children, but a household with permanent, resident children would probably be too much for them.
Although they are very friendly when meeting and visiting other dogs, they would be best suited in a home with no other permanent resident dogs, as Murphy gets a bit jealous of sharing his home and girlfriend.
Both dogs travel well once they are settled in the car and are house-trained, although Poppy does have the odd piddle accident if she becomes stressed.
Health –
Murphy has recently had some tooth extractions that do not affect his enjoyment of food!
Poppy is a partially sighted, senior girl with dementia symptoms and so is on a daily Vivitonin tablet.
Adopting –
