Rex came to us when his family were no longer able to care for him.

Rex is a bundle of energy and fun! This happy boy exhibits all the clumsy and playful behaviors typical of his breed.

His joy-de-vivre often leads to him forgetting his size and bouncing up to tell you how much he loves you.

Luckily he is a very intelligent boy and loves his food so he responds very well to positive training! He is learning to walk well on the lead and that he gets rewarded when all 4 paws are on the ground. In typical Rottweiler style he is picking up all his new commands like a pro.

He loves to play ball and has shown excellent recall in our secure fields at the kennels.

Rex hasn’t been reactive with other dogs at all in kennels but we have not observed him in a home environment with another dog.

Type of home

If you are looking for a raven-haired beauty to bring a bundle of joy and energy to your home, Rex is your boy!
Rottweilers are incredibly loyal family members and thrive in playful environments.

He will require a family who is physically able to walk him and continue his rewards-based training.

Rex is sad in the kennels and misses being part of a family, so we would love to see him adopted as a new family member.

It’s possible that Rex may have mild separation anxiety as he becomes stressed when initially returned to his kennel, however, this may be due to his world being turned upside down recently, he does settle though and with his love of food, we think this could be managed with training. So his new family would need to be patient with this.

Rex has a lovely temperament, but he is a big and bouncy boy, so we feel any children in the home should be older.

We are unsure of how Rex would behave around cats as he has not been tested.

Adopting – Rex is a resident at our kennels in Wells, Somerset and successful applicants will need to come and meet him here,
