Background

Ripple came into our care as an unsold puppy from a breeder and has never lived inside a home. He is a nervous little chap who is fearful of people but is slowly learning to trust and accept affection.

Character

At first, Ripple is a little shy and nervous around new people—he might run away and hide or lower himself to the ground when first touched. But don’t worry! In his short time in a loving and patient foster home so far, Ripple has already shown a lovable, cheeky side. He will be a wonderful little companion!

Ripple had a suppressed life so far, where he was not able to express normal puppy behaviours but has started to show his playful, inquisitive and cheeky side since being in foster care.

Ripple loves his canine foster sister and has shown the most confidence whilst interacting with her, he loves to instegate play and follows her lead whilst navigating the household routines. He really benefits from the presence of another dog to show him how fun dog-life can be!

This boy loves his walks and enjoys adventures and meeting other dogs whilst out and about. He is friendly to everyone he meets, although very cautious of humans at this stage.

Type of home

Ripple will need a kind and gentle home who are prepared to create a safe home for him to express his character and gently guide him through his puppy stage. He is young and active and will need regular exercise, stimulation and reward-based training.

Because of his nervous temperament, we feel a busy home with active children will be too much for him. He may be able to live with quiet and gentle older children who can respect his boundaries and contribute to his training and exercise.

Ripple is still adjusting to all the change in his life and does not like to be left alone for too long and becomes stressed and destructive. His time away from his humans will need to be slowly built up.
The good news is Ripple travels very well in the car so will happily join the family on adventures, although he is overwhelmed in busy environments and will need gentle support until his confidence grows.

Ripple thrives in the company of other dogs and must live with another friendly dog/s to help him adjust to doggy-life in the home and gain confidence.

He is currently happily living with a friendly cat and we think he could happily live other dog savvy cats.

Ripple is showing great progress in toilet training and his new family will need to continue to support him with this whilst he learns how to live inside a home.

Adopting – Ripple is in foster care in Bedminster, Bristol and successful applicants will need to come and meet him here.
