Trigger

BACKGROUND – Trigger came to Dogs Friends as an unclaimed stray. He was in very poor physical condition, very weak and severely underweight. Despite his poor start in life Trigger has a wonderful temperament and has been friendly with everyone he meets. After being in our kennels for several weeks Trigger is now in a foster home where he can re-build his strength and be further assessed.

CHARACTER – Trigger is a very friendly, intelligent boy who loves to please. He is great with all adults but does get over excited around children. This is being worked on in his foster home and he is already showing some improvement. With continued training we hope Trigger can overcome this. Trigger is good with most dogs and is at present living with another similar large dog. He has a very full-on play style so we don’t feel he could live with small dogs. Trigger is very people orientated and could possibly live as an only dog. It would need to be in a home with someone there for most of the time as he does get very attached to his carer and if left for long periods may get stressed. His foster mum has been working long and hard with Trigger and now with patience and reassurance he can be left for short periods.

HEALTH – Tigger has now gained weight and seems to be fit and healthy. He is now much stronger and is able to be walked daily without getting too tired. Trigger will be assessed to see if he needs any Physio therapy in the future.

TYPE OF HOME – Trigger will need a home with someone home for most of the time. He can live another friendly large dog but one who could handle or match his boisterous play style. A GSD experienced, quiet adult home would be good but any home that is prepared to continue the training and socialisation Trigger needs will be considered.

Trigger is best walked in quieter areas so a busy city home wouldn’t suit. Everyone who has met Trigger falls for him. He is an absolutely amazing boy and deserves a dedicated, loving home.
