DOB: 2019
Breed: Cavachon (Twts) and Poodle (Poodie)
Donation: £500 as a pair
Background –
Both come from a breeding background so it’s likely that they have lived in breeding conditions on a remote farm with very little positive human interaction.
Character –
Twts and Poodie were incredibly nervous when they first joined us, but have slowly relaxed and have started to become quite playful with each other now. They are still very wary of new people, particularly Poodie, so gentle patience is required. Their foster family say that they can be very affectionate and both love fuss and attention once they get to know you. It’s important that their new family understand that Poodie is deeply traumatised by his past and will need a lot of a patience and understanding given he is so frightened.
Outside the home –
Both Twts and Poodie go on pack walks in remote areas of countryside, which they love. They have shown themselves to be happy around all other dogs. They are happy with long walks, are good in the car, and love getting covered in mud but due to their background they have not been trained on lead and would need slow and gentle introduction and training for lead walks.
Type of home –
This duo need a home with lots of patience, that will be ok with giving them as much time and space as they need to overcome their nervousness. Once they’re ready they will also need help with the outside world and general training.
Health –
They are both generally in good health but Twts does need eyedrops, which is a lifelong requirement.
Adopting –
Twts and Poodie are in foster care in Woolavington, Bridgwater so potential adopters will need to meet them here.
