Winnie
Born: 06/2024
Breed: Border Collie
Donation: £400
Background –
Winnie came to us with her litter mate Whizz after her breeder could not sell them both.
Character –
Winnie is a confident young lady and has been loving attention and affection. This playful girl loves coming for cuddles, enjoys playing with other dogs and is generally a lovely, sweet-natured young pup. Winnie was a little bossy with her litter mate who is much smaller than her, particularly around food, but has settled in nicely with the resident dogs in her foster home and listens to their corrections.
Type of home –
Winnie has had very limited socialisation and no training so will need adopters with plenty of time and patience to work on her training and socialisation. She has done well with outings to cafes, pubs and meeting other dogs, and now understands how to walk on a lead. Winnie appears to be a very quick learner and adapts to new situations well.
Winnie is lively and energetic so will need a home where she will get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. She is unlikely to have lived in a house before and will probably show behaviours typical of a much younger puppy – play biting, jumping up, chewing etc as well as not being house trained. Winnie’s adopters will need to be committed to helping her reach her full potential through training and socialisation.
Adopting –
Winnie is currently in a foster home in Nailsea, North Somerset, and applicants need to be willing to travel to meet her there.
