Background – Cally had an unsettled start in life and has been used for breeding whilst living in unideal circumstances. Fortunately someone intervened when circumstances changed and then handed Cally in to Dogs Friends in May 2022.
Character – Cally is a very loving and playful dog – she enjoys snuggling, snoozing and playing with toys in equal measures.
Type of home – Cally is currently in foster care with a young couple who are out at work for a few hours a day but who spend a lot of time with her otherwise – this set up of a calm home suits her well as she is a lady of leisure! Cally really enjoys being in the garden where she likes to play with all her toys, so a home with outdoor space is a must.
Dogs and Cats – Cally has previously lived with several dogs in what may have been stressful conditions – this seems to have caused anxiety around other dogs and as a result she does not respond positively to them on walks. This is likely to be remedied over time with stability and training but does mean that Cally needs to be an only dog in the home and her guardians will need to be willing to manage her reactivity. Cally absolutely cannot live with cats as she will chase them!
Specific needs – Cally needs a calm home with guardians who are experienced due to her training needs. In the home Cally is the perfect guest, she just needs a little bit more work on being out and about.
