  • Dexter can live with or without other dogs
  • Dexter can live with children over 14
  • Dexter needs an active home

Dexter was rescued as a young puppy in Kuwait before moving to the UK with his family. In recent weeks, Dexter has thrived in a very active foster home where he has been a loving companion. He bonded very quickly with his female fosterer and has proved to be a real character.

Dexter loves human company (once he’s got to know you… treats help!) and soon leans in for a back scratch or belly rub. Equally he forgets his size and wants to play with every dog he meets.

Though happy as an only dog, a home with another large or similar sized dog may also suit Dexter. An active family with a large garden who can take him on long walks and adventures would be a perfect match. They must also be happy to cuddle up to a very oversized lap dog!

Though Dexter enjoys time with people he is also independent enough to take himself off for a nap – this means that he can be left for short periods of time with no fuss. Dexter does have high prey drive towards small animals and livestock, and so must stay on the lead on walks. Dexter walks well on a lead but can sometimes get very excited and full of beans but comes back to heel when asked.

Dexter can be nervous of children so cannot be homed with children under 14. Overall Dexter will become a wonderful addition to a large dog loving home.

If you are considering applying to adopt Dexter, please ensure you have thoroughly read his profile – any applications that do not meet his home specification will not be considered. Applicants must be willing to attend a meet and greet. A home check and vet reference (where applicable) will be conducted.
