About This Project

Felicity (Fliss)

Breed: Bichon x Westie (Assumed)

Age: 3 years old (DOB 18/03/2019)

Donation: £300

Background – Fliss came to us from a breeding background and arrived absolutely terrified and in very poor condition. Fortunately, Fliss was able to move into a loving foster home where she has come on leaps and bounds.
Type of home – Fliss would benefit from a calm, experienced foster home that will understand that she will need time and patience to accept love and affection. Fliss is starting to show a cheeky side and will quite happily play when humans are at a safe distance away (in the same room).
People – Fliss is not comfortable being close with people yet, although she is sometimes brave enough to trot up and sniff the hand of her foster Mum. Fliss is exceptionally gentle and wouldn’t hurt a fly, but she will freeze when you pick her up etc.
Children – Fliss would be best suited to a home with older children who are able to behave in a calm and sensible manner around her.
Dogs and cats – Due to her background, a canine companion will be essential for Fliss to overcome her trauma and we do not think she would cope as an only dog. Fliss is used to living as part of a multi-dog group and would need a home with at least one other gentle dog. Fliss has shown signs of wanting to play with other dogs and does encourage her foster sister to play, although Fifi is having none of it! Fliss is not cat tested.
Outside of the house – Fliss is not ready to go for walks yet and instead is happy pottering around the garden. Things like going in the car etc will be alien to Fliss and she will need time to warm up to this.
Health – Fliss has alopecia which is being investigated and has a hernia which will be repaired when she is spayed.
Adoption process – Fliss is in foster care in Bristol and applicants must understand that when they meet her she is unlikely to want to engage straight away. Applicants must be willing to accommodate a home check, vet reference check (where applicable) and a visit Fliss in her foster home.
