Breed: Mixed breed – small Collie size
Age: 9 months
Since her arrival in kennels, Myci has been a true joy to look after. She is always happy to see the team in the morning, she is very affectionate and has enjoyed the company of other dogs in the playing fields. She can be nervous when first meeting someone but quickly warms up and loves the attention.
We are looking for a calm and experienced owner. She still shows several puppy behaviours, such as jumping up, digging In the garden, opportunistic snacking and play-mouthing, but she is eager to please and quick to learn. If shouted at, she will bark in return and needs someone who can calmly explain to her what role and responsibilities she does/doesn’t have to take on. This also extends to managing her territorial behaviour. In her previous home, she has shown alert behaviours in the garden and will quickly notify the household if someone is passing the property.
As she has arrived at the height of summer we have not yet been able to take her through the village to further socialise her with people and dogs when on lead. She struggled with this in her previous home, but will need someone who is comfortable opening up her world very very slowly, ensuring that she is comfortable at each stage.
With this in mind Myci would like to live with:
– Adult only house or with dog experienced children over 16 years
– Another older dog
– Owners who are home most of the day
– People who have the time to continue her training, can stay calm and understand puppy behaviours
If you are considering applying to adopt Myci, please ensure you have thoroughly read her profile. Applicants must be willing to attend a meet and greet at our kennels near Wells. A home check and vet reference (where applicable) will be conducted.
