Background – Although we believed Stitch has been a pet dog, he was handed into rescue in a sorry state as an underweight and frightened boy. Fortunately, Stitch was able to go to a foster home to recover and adjust to living the high life! This boy was adopted and sadly returned through no fault of his own (the other dog in the home did not react positively to him).

Character – Where do we start with Stitch? There are so many things to say – he’s adorable, funny, playful and cheeky. He loves other dogs and people, and especially being cuddled!

Type of home – This little man wants nothing more than to be fully included in your life! He travels well in the car, and is superb on lead – enjoying a gentle stroll, especially if that leads to the pub for more cuddles with lots of different people! Stitch happily has free rein of his foster home and is very much part of the family (including living with three other dogs) – he is used to receiving plenty of affection and company and also loves to cuddle up at bedtime where he sleeps right through the night with his foster family. Although of small stature Stitch has Olympic jumping ability and this will need to be considered in garden security.

Dogs and Cats – Stitch is a lover, not a fighter, he adores other dogs and we think he could be rather sad as an only dog and so are hoping for him to go to a home with loving playmates. Stitch loves to play wrestling games with his best pal Frankie and has even encouraged puppy farm rescue Edie to find her playful side. The whole gang love him! Stitch is not fully cat tested but has not appeared interested when passing cats on walks.

Health – Stitch arrived in rescue very underweight with tummy problems but fortunately this has been resolved with a raw diet that he will need to continue with. Stitch is also prone to reflux and this has been managed with a raised feeding bowl and a daily anti-acid medication (Omeprazole). Stitch requires regular ear and facial skin fold cleaning and which he actually quite enjoys!

Adoption process – Stitch is in foster care in South Gloucestershire and applicants must be within the catchment area and able to travel to his foster home to meet him.
