Background

Solo came from a home where he had a very difficult start, and as a result, he struggles to trust.

Character

Solo is very sweet and friendly once he knows you, but he is nervous of new people – he needs careful and kind handling to help him understand that new people will not harm him. He is very playful and loves to play ball and run around in our secure paddock!

It can take Solo time to trust new people, but once he’s built up a trusted relationship, he has shown our kennel team his more cuddly side.

Type of home

Solo needs an experienced and sensible home with confident handlers. He must go to an adult-only home and would be best as the only pet. We think Solo would thrive best in a quiet, calm home in a rural setting. Solo has always been in our kennels, so we cannot say what he will be like in the home.

Solo likes getting out and about, but can be strong on lead and dog-selective, so his new home must be confident with a dog of his size and nature.

Solo’s traumatic history has had a significant impact on his ability to trust people and can make him unpredictable, particularly as we don’t fully know what happened to him early in life.

Adopting

Solo is a resident at our kennels near Wells and applicants would need to come and meet him here.
