Background –
Lily arrived with us back in March with her sister Sky – they were closely bonded and we rehomed them together after they spent time in foster care. A very sad incident occurred in which the girls had a fight – both were injured and Lily returned to the kennels to recover and look for a home by herself.
Character –
Lily is a sweet and friendly dog who is happy and confident around people. She loves to snuggle into you and has been great at meeting dogs of all sizes. Lily is a smart girl who is very food-motivated and we’ve found her to be comfortable in most settings, even enjoying trips to the pub!
Type of home –
Lily gets on well with people and children of all ages so could live with calm and sensible children. Although Lily has always got on well with other dogs (we could not fault her in foster care), due to the incident with her sister, she will need a home as a solo dog.
Health –
Lily has an old shoulder injury, which she had when she came into rescue. It was initially thought Lily may need surgery or possibly amputation, but a course of physiotherapy including massage, laser treatment, acupuncture and exercises has really improved Lily’s comfort and mobility. Although Lily will need monitoring for lameness and may occasionally need top-up physio she is generally able to lead a normal life. Lily does walk with a limp and needs to avoid strenuous exercise and anything that would put extra strain on her shoulder joint, but manages well.
Adopting –
Lily is currently in foster care in Cheddar, and applicants will need to visit her here.
Our catchment area for rehoming is Somerset and the local surrounding areas (such as Bristol, Bath, Weston Super Mare and Wiltshire).
