Background –
Jasper joined us as an owner surrender after his previous owner’s dementia meant they could no longer provide the care he needed.
Character –
Jasper is a laid-back boy who happily takes everything in his stride. He was initially nervous about cars, having come from a very remote location, but he’s getting used to the noise quite quickly. He’s enjoyed a lot in a short time: car rides, walks, and even a trip to the local restaurant. He’s been loving all the attention he’s got in foster care and making the most of unlimited belly rubs.
Type of home –
Jasper is looking for a quiet, calm and relaxing home for his retirement years. Due to his placid nature he would like a home that isn’t too busy with comings and goings. He hasn’t lived with a dog before so we think he’d prefer to be an only dog, he may be able to live with a dog of similar size and temperament, subject to successful introductions. He isn’t currently living with children but has been used to visiting grandchildren in his previous home, so he may be ok with calm, sensible older children.
Health –
Due to a poor diet before joining us Jasper does have some ongoing skin issues that are being treated. He also has an old injury that left him a bit lame in his front leg but this has improved as he’s settled into a better routine.
Adopting –
Jasper is a resident at our Kennels (between Cheddar and Wells) and potential adopters will need to meet him here.
Our catchment area for rehoming is Somerset and the local surrounding areas (such as Bristol, Bath, Weston Super Mare and Wiltshire).
