Background –
Rory has a very sad past, as he was found very badly injured at the side of the road in Bristol, presumably abandoned. After undergoing urgent surgery, he was signed over to us for rehabilitation and rehoming.
Character –
Rory is a very happy, content puppy who really loves his people – he’s a true snuggle monster and is a proper little boy! .
Rory is well settled in the home and happily snoozes in his bed whilst I’m at my desk, with regular breaks for snacks and cuddles but enjoys the freedom of taking himself off to play or relax. At night he loves to snuggle up close!
Rory likes car trips so enjoys adventures further afield and loves to join the family on outings – he regularly comes Greenlaning and is a big fan of woodland adventures and hikes (due to his young age he can only do shorter trails of a few km with carry breaks for now).
Type of home –
Rory is a free range little dude, who is used to having the run of the house and garden – a home with a secure garden is a must as he likes to take himself off to sunbathe and explore.
Rory would like an active, outdoorsy home as he loves his walks and has lots of energy – his slight disability does not slow him down and he’s a real rain or shine dog. That being said, he loves to snuggle on the sofa too! Rory loves the car and is an excellent passenger so likes to join in on trips. Rory has never been left home alone.
Rory would be very well suited to a family home with sensible young children (he is very happy around little ones), but they’d need to be very confident around dogs as he is an excitable pup.
Rory currently lives with multiple other rescue dogs of all sizes and also has visiting rescue dogs in the home – he loves them all so would be very happy to live with other dogs. He has a boisterous play style and loves a games of bitey face or wrestlemania so resident dogs would need to be up for a game!.
Health –
Rory had a broken Pelvis and Leg and has undergone 3 rounds of surgery which he has recovered well from. Rory has just started a course of hydrotherapy and his new family will need to continue with his strength building exercises at home. It would be very ideal if they may be able to do further hydrotherapy with him. Please note that although he does still have some lasting nerve damage, this does not slow him down and he is able to run very fast!
Adopting –
Rory is in foster care in Bristol and applicants would need to come and meet him here. We are hoping for him to go to his new home after his current course of hydrotherapy (end of November) but hope his new family can spent time getting to know him in the meantime
