Background –
Winnie came to us from a breeder as an unsold puppy and until now has had limited exposure to the outside world.
Character –
Winnie is a very sweet, inquisitive and gentle soul. Winnie’s foster carer says she is a ray of sunshine!
Winnie is very friendly and will politely climb into any lap for fusses and cuddles, but she doesn’t bound or bounce all over people.
Despite never having lived inside before, Winnie has impeccable house manners. She is yet to have an accident in her foster home, and shows no interest in being destructive or chewing things she shouldn’t. She much prefers cuddling up on the sofa with a fluffy blanket. What more could you ask for!
Winnie walks wonderfully on the lead, staying nearby her walker. She enjoys continued encouragement when outside to remind her that everything will be okay.
Winnie sleeps in the bedroom with her foster carers. If she is in another room, she cries and barks, so will need to continue with her current routine.
Type of home –
We are looking for a loving family home which is fairly calm, with people willing to help Winnie catch up on her training and socialisation.
Winnie would be happy living with sensible, dog savvy children who are gentle around her. Winnie would be happy living with other dogs, although she is a little wary of her Greyhound pal so smaller dogs would be best.
Winnie can become stressed being left alone and would like a home where someone can work around this, whilst slowly building up time by herself (enlisting a trainer if required).
Adopting –
Winnie is in foster care in Bristol and applicants will need to come and meet her here.
