Transport Driver Form

This role will require you to handle dogs (or very occasionally cats) being transported in line with our guidelines and health and safety regulations. Drivers must be able to lift dogs of various sizes in and out of vehicles if required. Crates must be used in order to transport the dog safely – there may be occasions where this is not needed and alternative precautions can be used.

  • All drivers are required to have a valid driving licence, insurance and MOT.
  • Extreme caution should be taken when transporting dogs; this includes double-leading wherever possible.
  • When a dog is put in to a crate, a lead must be attached to the collar or harness and threaded through to the outside of the crate to avoid an escape risk when the crate is opened.
  • Remember ‘Hands. Face. Space.’ when in close contact with others.
  • Unfortunately we are not able to reimburse mileage so volunteers should consider the expense of their fuel before they apply.
