Background

Captain has joined us from a Welsh Farm where he was a working sheep dog. He’s now looking for a retirement home.

Character

Captain has a wonderful gentle, friendly nature and is very affectionate, loving lots of cuddles and attention. He has settled very quickly into his foster home, which he shares with another small dog.

When not lounging on the sofa he enjoys interesting walks and meeting other dogs. He travels well in the car and can be left for short periods. He has such a lovely character and is so willing to please.

Type of home

Captain would like a calm and active home with someone who is around most of the time, as he thrives on human interaction. Captain is very active and loves going for walks, but he should avoid strenuous exercise and ball chasing so undue pressure isn’t put on his joints.

When out and about Captain is quite confident but having come from rural Wales wouldn’t cope with busy city life.

After a tough working life Captain has fully embraced retirement and deserves to find a loving home.

Health –

Captain has some very mild joint issues. Presently, they are causing no problems, but in the future, he may need treatment or medication. This will be discussed further with interested applicants. Captain is otherwise fit and healthy.

Adopting

Captain is currently in Weston-super-Mare and potential adopters will need to visit them here.

Our catchment area for rehoming is Somerset and the local surrounding areas (such as Bristol, Bath, Weston Super Mare and Wiltshire).
