Background –
Rosie joined us when her family could no longer look after her due to household allergies. She had been with the family since she was a puppy and grew up with resident children in the home.
Character –
Rosie is a typical Rottie, and anyone who knows the breed will know what loveable, goofy and loyal dogs they are.
Rosie’s foster family say that she is such a happy girl who loves everyone. Her favourite things are cuddles and running around the field with her ball.
In fact, if you have a ball, she will be your best friend!
She is very intelligent and has even learnt how to play hide and seek with her foster family. She loves games that get her brain working and this has made her a very trainable dog!
Type of home –
Rosie would suit a home that is savvy with large dog breeds. She has so much to give to the right family.
She travels extremely well in the car, so is set and ready to join the family on adventures.
She is a strong dog so she will need a physically able handler but she walks well on her lead and has learnt to ignore other dogs through positive training with treats.
Rosie previously lived with children, so we think she would be fine to live with a family with dog-savvy resident children who know how to respect any dog, regardless of size. As she is a bigger girl, the ages of any resident children will be discussed on a case-by-case basis
Rosie is used to being an only dog and we think she would prefer to continue being an only dog.
She would not be suited to a home with cats.
Health –
Rosie was a little unfit and overweight when she first came into our care, but she is getting healthier by the day.
Adopting –
Rosie the Rottie is in foster care in Sherborne and successful applicants would need to come and meet her here.
