Background –
Piper and Sookie arrived with us with minimal history, but it is believed they have lived in a home environment.
Character –
The girls are both incredibly affectionate and love to get cuddles! Piper would happily spend all day on your lap or under a blanket. She loves food and food based games, she’s cheeky and stubborn when she wants to be. Sookie is the more nervous of the two; she seeks reassurance from her people and would love a kind, calm person to cuddle up with. Once settled, Sookie loves to play and run around the secure field!
These girls are the perfect pair if you want to love and be loved.
“It’s been a real joy to watch these girls settle and come out of their shells. Sookie loves to be loved and play with toys, whilst Piper will do (almost) anything for another snack”
Type of home –
Sookie and Piper are low-energy homebodies whose greatest joy is cuddling on the sofa. They are not social and require a calm, patient home happy with dogs that avoid public outings. They cannot live with other pets, and their walks must be in quiet areas or secure fields, kept well away from other dogs. They don’t require regular walking as they are quite happy to potter in a garden instead.
Sookie and Piper haven’t met children whilst in our care, but they have not shown any negative behaviour towards people, so they may be able to live with sensible children, subject to successful introductions.
They are cracking companions who thrive on mental enrichment—puzzles, games, and learning new tricks—and can be left alone together. So, they could go to a home where they would be left some of the time.
While they are responsive to training, ongoing socialisation is not a requirement for their new home.
Please note: Sookie is a very springy girl and will require high fencing (approx. 6ft) in her new home.
Health –
Sookie and Piper have sensitive tummies, which are well managed with their diet.
Adopting –
The girls are in foster care in Weston-super-Mare and applicants would need to come and meet them here.
We are accepting applications from a wider catchment area for Sookie and Piper (I.e. Devon and South East Wales). Please be mindful that you will need to travel to their foster home multiple times. You will not be able to meet a dog and take them home the same day.
