Background –
Tessa was surrendered to us from a breeder having never been part of a household before and went straight into a caring foster home.
Character –
Tessa is a nervous girl who has had very limited exposure to the outside world until now. Despite this, she has a beautiful gentle and affectionate nature. Tessa is very submissive and wants to please her people.
She settles well in the home and sleeps in her bed downstairs at night.
Tessa is slowly learning to enjoy walks and getting stimulation from smelling all the interesting things in the big wide world. She is happy to greet other dogs and people but is still timid and can get nervous and overwhelmed easily. Her foster family are working on building her confidence gently.
This sweet girl gets on well with other respectful dogs, although she was a little nervous of very large dogs and shy’d away from the Greyhound when she arrived.
She has learned potty training at warp speed and very rarely has accidents, although her new family will still need to guide her gently in the early days as she settles into her new home.
Type of home –
Tessa needs a kind and patient home to help grow her confidence and support her whilst she learns about the world. She is an intelligent breed and will benefit from quality exercise and stimulation, particularly as her confidence grows. She is particularly nervous around her meal times and her new family will need to support her here.
We feel she would benefit from living with another balanced dog or dogs so that she can learn more confidence and how fun the world can be for her!
She is ok to be left alone for a short time when her family need to pop out.
Tessa currently lives in a foster home with 2 dog-savvy children, a 5-year-old and 14-year-old. She enjoys their company and is very gentle and affectionate but does become nervous and skittish if things become too loud and boisterous, so her new family would need to be mindful of this.
She would thrive in a quiet home where she can decompress and gain confidence.
This sweet girl will happily live with cats and currently lives with a dog-savvy cat in her foster home.
Adopting –
Tessa is in a foster home in Kingswood, Bristol and successful applicants will need to come and meet her here.
